Seaweed Matters Workshop at Design Museum

On Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 NOVEMBER, 10:30 – 16:30

We have teamed up with the Design Museum London to create a two day workshop exploring the potential of seaweed as a biomaterial. You will be creating your own natural dyes, before making your own rug with a seaweed fibre.

What to expect

Seaweed can be considered one of the most important organisms on our planet, producing up to 80% of the world’s oxygen. It has the potential to be transformed into textiles, natural dyes, biofuel, furniture, housing, beauty products, biodegradable water bottles and is also a food in many cultures. In a time of global warming and mass consumption, how could seaweed help us to create a sustainable future?

During the workshop, discover how this single ingredient is fast becoming one of the most versatile biomaterials. Alongside presentations and discussions, you will create your own natural dyes, before making your own rug with a seaweed fibre.

Tickets include lunch on both days of the workshop.

Adult £120
